For every dollar donated, Harvesters provide 2 meals to those in need.

These meals make it possible for a child to focus in school, for a mom to make it through her night shift and pay her family’s bills, and for a senior citizen to avoid life-threatening illnesses.

Why is the Harvester's organization special to Let's Dine Local?

Amanda grew up in a single parent home during the 80's and 90's.

Her mother worked 2-3 jobs while struggling to house and feed Amanda and her brother Chris. It was not uncommon for Amanda's family to rely on organizations like Harvester's for meals.

In fact, Amanda distinctly remembers the relief of the "drive thru" food pantry experience that Harvester's offers.

Amanda was in high school. That age where self awareness and peer approval are a constant struggle. It was such a relief, for this self conscious teen, to stay in the car. Her family could pull up and a volunteer kindly loaded a box filled to the brim with fruit, veggies, and real food.

Later in life, Amanda has volunteered filling those boxes full of food. And, she has had the privilege of loading those heavy boxes into trunks belonging to families like hers.
